Its been a while since I’ve posted anything, mainly because of a combination of factors- a frantic rush to get figures finished, a trip to NZ’s South Island and the preparations involved in selling our house.
Whilst my intention is that this should be a wargaming blog I wonder if a few pictures of beautiful NZ scenery might capture some interest. No wargaming content I’m afraid, Arrrowtown is an historic early settlement that grew up in the Otago goldrush not a place where arrows are made!
My wife and I flew into Christchurch on an early Monday morning and then drove the 6 odd hours to Arrowtown through some lovely country with easy driving and sparsely populated roads. We stayed at Millbrook Golf Resort ( another lovely place where I managed to get some time to thrash a little white ball around). The plan was just to relax and chill out and visit a few wineries.
I’m not sure about Bee Gees, but I’ve come to realise that I’m a G man – Golf, Gaming, Gardening and Grapes man
First stop – Aoraki or Mount Cook, overlooking Lake Pukaki
Then through the Lindis Pass separating North Otago from Central Otago
Clearly the last picture shows real life Stilfor tufts! (see wargaming content after all!)
Next on to Arrowtown and Millbrook Resort -Now who says golf is boring, how’s this for a sight?
With apologies to Benny Hill …”And he drove the fastest golf cart in the South…..”
More to follow…….
